Head Coach
KVIK HALDEN FK
As Head Coach at Kvik Halden, I managed all first-team responsibilities, including leading training sessions, overseeing match preparation, and developing tactical plans. My role required significant adaptability due to major shifts in the club’s structure, including vacant Sports Director and CEO positions, along with unexpected changes to initial conditions—particularly regarding player logistics and support. These evolving circumstances ultimately impacted our ability to perform effectively, and my tenure with the club concluded in August.

2022-2023
Assistant Coach
STABÆK IF
As First Team Assistant Coach at Stabæk, I was responsible for standard first team duties such as planning and leading training sessions, match analysis, and supporting the head coach with strategic planning. My main focus was on defensive organization, set piece strategies, and individual player development. During my time with the team, we achieved promotion from the second tier to Norway’s top division and reached the semi-finals in the national cup. I also played a key role in the development of several players, notably Gift Orban, who is now with Olympique Lyonnais, and contributed to the transfer of multiple players through targeted coaching and advancement.

Assistant Coach
BOAVISTA FC
As First Team Assistant Coach at Boavista FC during the 2022-23 season, I handled core duties such as training planning, match preparation, and tactical analysis, with a focus on individual player development. Despite early FIFA restrictions on player registrations, we began strongly. Mid-season, the head coach accepted a role in Saudi Arabia, and as is customary, the coaching staff departed. I chose to move back to Norway to prioritize family and my professional goals.

2019-2021
Assistant Coach
FC FAMALICÃO
As First Team Assistant Coach at FC Famalicão, I focused on individual player development and attacking organization while supporting the head coach in match preparation, training, and tactical planning. In our first season in the top tier, we achieved a historic top-6 finish, just one point shy of Europa League qualification, and reached the semi-final of the national cup, losing to SL Benfica. This season marked record points and the club’s highest league classification. Midway through the second season, the head coach resigned, and as is customary, the coaching staff departed as well.

2018-2019
U17 Head coach
FC COPENHAGEN
As Head Coach in FC Copenhagen’s youth academy, I worked to guide and develop young talent within a well-structured club environment that emphasized continuity between the academy and first team. Midway through the season, I began assisting the first team under the leadership of Ståle Solbakken, participating in sessions every two weeks and engaging in regular meetings with the first team assistant coaches. This collaboration ensured alignment in tactical principles and a unified approach throughout the club.
During my time, we participated in several international tournaments, achieving notable success, including winning one in Portugal. However, the primary focus was always on player development, and I was privileged to support the growth of players who have since reached top international levels, including Rasmus Højlund (Manchester United), Victor Kristiansen (Leicester City), and Elias Jelert (Galatasaray). My role was instrumental in helping lay the foundation for their future success within a collaborative, high-performance system.

2017-2018
U19 Head coach
Elite player developer
U14 Head coach
VIKING FK
At Viking FK, I took on progressive roles within the club’s youth development structure over two seasons. In my first season, I led the children’s football coaching program, overseeing training and education for young players, and served as Head Coach of the U14 team. This role involved creating a positive foundation for skill development and instilling core football principles at an early age.
In my second season, I advanced to Head Coach of the U19 team and Elite Player Developer, where I was responsible for the individual follow-up and development of the club’s most talented players from U15 and above. This included working closely with U23 players who were already integrated into the first team. My focus was on fostering readiness for top-tier competition, aligning each player’s growth with the club’s pathway to the professional level.

2016-2016
International Coach
SL BENFICA
As International Project Head Coach for SL Benfica, I was part of a football development initiative in China aimed at fostering grassroots growth. Originally assigned to lead a long term project in the Shanghai region, changes in the project lead me to oversaw a project in Shangyu, Hangzhou district, where we introduced structured football programs within primary schools and identified talented players in order to create a soccer school concept to develop the most promising youth. Due to the project changes, my stay was short-term, but I contributed to adapting SL Benfica’s methodology to local needs and laying the foundation for grassroots football development in a very demanding context.

2016-2016
U19 Head coach
FOLLO FK
As Head Coach of Follo FK’s second team and U19 squad (a combined training group), I led the development of young players in a challenging environment shaped by the club’s financial difficulties stemming from issues in the previous season. Despite these obstacles, I focused on creating a competitive team atmosphere and promoting player growth. Managing a squad of U19s in a senior football setting was demanding, yet it provided valuable experience for these players, helping them make significant strides in their development, that led to some of them taking their step into the first team, and later advancing to top tiers of Norwegian football.

2006-2016
Country Manager
COERVER COACHING
As Country Manager (CEO) and Technical Director for Coerver Coaching in Portugal, I oversaw all operations and technical content for the program. My responsibilities included managing nationwide activities, organizing and leading training camps, delivering coach education programs, and establishing partnerships with clubs to integrate Coerver’s methodologies. I ensured high standards in program delivery and content, strengthening Coerver’s presence and reputation within Portugal’s football development landscape.

2013-2015
Head coach
BERGSØY IL
As Head Coach of the first team and Youth Director at Bergsøy IL, I embraced the challenge of working in a new country and context, contributing to Norwegian football development. My role combined leading the senior squad with building a foundational structure for long-term player growth within the club. At Bergsøy IL, a community-focused amateur club, traditional selection programs like those in Portugal were neither common nor appropriate. Adapting to this model, I implemented a program that balanced inclusive development for all players with specialized training to stimulate those with the highest potential. This approach not only strengthened the club’s structure but also paved the way for significant achievements, including one of our former players recently beeing called up to U19 national team—a historic milestone for a small club like Bergsøy IL.

2010-2013
Technical Director
Head of Ind. Dev.
SC BRAGA
As Head of Youth Development and Individual Development at SC Braga, we optimized the club’s academy programs, focusing initially on U14 and below before expanding to all age groups as the club prepared for a new academy. Under Carlos Mangas and after Agostinho Oliveira, we designed a unified playing style and training model to align development across all levels, implemented a scouting department, and oversaw the selection and release of players to ensure a clear pathway for progression, crafting tailored programs for high-potential players from U14 to U19.
During my tenure, we saw significant progress, including a historic U19 league title and the development of players like Pedro Neto (Chelsea), Trincão (Barcelona/Sporting Lisbon), and Pedro Gonçalves (Sporting Lisbon). Today, the foundations we established continue to drive success, with another U19 league title achieved under Pedro Pires, a coach who was key in our program.

2007-2010
Children Head coach
Project Manager:
"The Benfica way"
SL BENFICA
As Head Coach for Children’s Football at SL Benfica’s Caixa Campus, I worked within the club’s methodology to develop players, with some progressing to higher levels in the academy or local clubs. I also served as Technical Director for two SL Benfica Soccer Schools in Lisbon area, ensuring alignment with the club’s standards.
Through the international project "The Benfica Way," I led efforts to share Benfica’s training philosophy globally, organizing events from scratch and managing logistics, content, and presentations. I delivered Benfica’s methods at major events like the NSCAA Convention (now United Soccer Coaches) in the U.S., the Grassroots Live Show in the UK, and other key coaching events across Europe and North America, sharing practical and theoretical insights with clubs, federations, and professionals worldwide.

2010-2010
Head Coach
ISEL - LISBOA
As Head Coach of the university team, I took over mid-season, replacing the previous coach and leading a squad composed entirely of university players. Competing in a league where university football holds a modest profile in Portugal, my focus was on fostering team cohesion and improving performance within the constraints of the setup. We worked steadily toward the season’s goal, ultimately reaching the final group stages despite starting from a challenging position in the standings.

2000-2010
Head Coach
Youth Director
PAIO PIRES FC
My coaching career began at Paio Pires FC, a small local club where I also played for many years. Starting as an assistant with the U16 team, I discovered my passion for coaching and teaching. Over time, I coached nearly every age group, from U8 to U18, eventually becoming Head Coach of the first team in my final three seasons—a role I first experienced at just 25 years old, stepping in during the club’s most challenging season while still serving as U14 Head Coach.
In addition to coaching, I served as Youth Director and Technical Director, helping rebuild the club’s structure, creating soccer schools, and establishing a clear developmental pathway for young players.
